44. The Secret February 5, 2007

So I got in the mail and watched a copy of the documentary “The Secret.” I am glad I watched it, and would recommend it to others. It is like a less-cheesy “What the Bleep do we know?” Like that movie, and “Waking Life,” it is really a series of famous thinkers discussing related topics. The production quality is surprisingly high.
Though there is a slight New Agey, self-help aspect to the movie, the message seems to make sense.
It also seems that there is no particular organization or religion being pushed, here, though I did see the word “Rosicrucian” (a mystery school) in the background a few times, and that would be consistent with the message of the movie. If anything, the only God (Creator) being implicitly referred to lies within.
You can order the movie for about $30, or watch it once online for $5 (HERE). I plan to lend out my copy to friends and family.
Below is a clip of some of the basic quotations and ideas of the movie.

Thanks so much for posting the Oprah clip. I only saw the last couple of minutes. The buzz on this book is phenominal, much larger than the Celestine Prophecy. Bought the book at Costco for $14; best $14 I’ve ever spent! I also own “What The Bleep…” but it didn’t hit me like The Secret because of how Bleep dealth with the enormity of the subject matter: quantum physics. Also enjoyed the music in the Oprah clip. How do I get more?
