43. Reasons for my short hiatus from MetaBugg January 31, 2007

I rented and am hooked on the PS2 game, Shadow of the Collosus. I don’t play the PS2 much at all. The last game I enjoyed was over break: it was the pretty engrossing Indigo Prophecy (but ultimately inhibitingly frustrating). Prior to that was God of War about a year ago.

I also watched The Village, twice. The second time was with my wife. I recommend it.

Click on for my thoughts about it (Spoiler alert!)…

The twist got me, even though I knew one was coming. My wife guessed it about 10 minutes before the reveal. Party-pooper.

But imagine if the movie is a great metaphor for our current reality. You and I, we are the second generation in the Village. The Illuminati are the elders. The town is what is being hidden from us (aliens, Atlantis, our secret past, the Truth).

Here is a movie idea: Do you know what the US is really doing in Iraq? Someone is looking for the Ark of the Covenant. Or the Spear of Destiny (which poked Jesus while on the cross), which would have Jesus’s blood on it. Once they find it (or the Shroud of Turin, or the Crown of Thorns, all containing blood), they would try to clone Jesus from the blood. Or maybe this has already happened, and there are a bunch of cloned Jesi out there. What if it turns out the DNA is not human, but alien?  Or what if some of the clones escaped, and ended up on the street, as crazy homeless people, all proclaiming to be Jesus?  Wouldn’t that be frackin’ ironic?

It is getting late, I am rambling, so it is time for sleep.

Shadows is an addictive game, isn’t it? When I first nabbed it, I sat up playing it for at least three days stopping only to nap a bit, eat, and use the bathroom. Of course, World of Warcraft is a bit more addictive. Stay clear of it unless you want to devote your life as I have
